The UAE has now implemented the rule that every UAE resident should have mandatory medical insurance, this includes domestic workers and dependents (children/ spouses/ parents) of working residents.
We’ve searched the internet for insurance companies providing medical insurance for their dependents of individual sponsors, and for residents earning AED4,000 or less that includes housemaids.
Here is quick reference, along with links to the websites and their phone numbers. The challenge then is to compare for cost-friendly insurances that are at the same time providing the most benefits.

OTHER INSURANCE COMPANIES:
Quite helpful in searching for Essential Benefits Plan medical insurance is the www.isahd.ae website (the Insurance System for Advancing Healthcare in Dubai, an initiative of the Dubai Health Authority) that lists down the 2017 participating insurers for the Essential Benefits Plan. This plan is for residents who are earning less than AED4,000 a month. The costs are priced low but provides the level of health insurance that meets or exceeds minimum benefits stipulated by DHA.
